Back at the homestead!

Well I had a lot of fun in Boston. The weather was nice, got a lot done, and I saw some people I had not seen in 15 years. I had a great time.

I finished the book I was reading, "Crazy Horse and Custer" by Stephen E. Ambrose. What a terrific book. One of the best books I have read so far, ofcourse I haven't read many books at all. Some how I can really relate to the Sioux Indians. Maybe I was an Indian in a prior life, ha, ha. Best 25 cent O has spent on me.

Hasta Luego, Jorge

Hey Jorge,

hope you're settling in at The Homestead. The garden and veggies look wonderful. It was nice to see you again up here.

O, K, and I are shooting for next Tuesday at Turners for the nice lunch you're treating us to. Thanks!

I'm excited about being off camping soon. The F, P, and H families have all placed their reservations with me for a spot in my really big tent we bought off O last year!

It will be good to get "un-plugged" for three weeks! One of my Summer hobbies is wood carving. Nothing very impressive, but I'm getting better and I really enjoy it.

I've also purchased a nice set of bongos to bring to camp for an impromtu jam around the old campfire at night.

I have added one more fun percussion instrument to my repertiore. It is called a cajon, that's right, a box. Therefore, I have a cajone, Not big cajones like O was afraid I was saying!!

Anyhow, this is a Peruvian peasant/slave percussion instrument. Really fun, nice sound, easy to travel with (Not sure where I'm going?). You should Youtube cajons if you want to see a cajon demo. it's really cool. People of different ethnic backgrounds will play it differently. I'm partial to the Latin/Flamenco sound!

Well, that's plenty from me. Hope you enjoy the next book you pick up. I've been turning the girls onto some Buddhism since going to an interesting conference for my license on Meditation and Psychotherapy. Very interesting professionally and personally.

Picked up a good book called Buddhism for Mothers. K and I are sharing it, since it's a lot to digest at one time. I'm sure O will check it out next. However, the book is so good, I highly recommend it to you. It just as well could have been called Buddhism for Parents.

take care, see ya soon? LPK

L, Sounds like you guys have a lot of plans. I didn't know you were going for a meditation psychotherapy license, good luck at that.
I also like wood carving but haven't done much. I've tried carving logs with a chain saw, but the results haven't been anything great.
Those drums sound interesting and buddhism has interested me in the past but only as an interest.

Enjoy Turners, Take Care, Jorge
